Data Protection Notice

General information

This data protection notice clarifies the nature, scope and purpose of the collection and use of personal data by the responsible provider named in the Imprint (hereinafter referred to as “provider”) on this website (hereinafter referred to as “offer”) in strict compliance with the German Data Protection Act and the German Telemedia Act.

Registration data / server log data

When you visit our website, the provider (or its web-space provider) collects data about anyone who accesses the offer in a log file. The access data includes the name of the retrieved web page, file, date and time of the retrieval, transmitted data volume, notification of successful retrieval, browser type and version, the user’s operating system, referrer URL, the IP address and the enquiring provider. The provider uses the log data only for statistical evaluations for the purpose of operation, security and optimisation of the offer. However, the provider reserves the right to subsequently check the log data if there are concrete grounds for a legitimate suspicion of unlawful use.

Collection and use of personal data

Personal data is information that is used to identify a person or trace a person’s identity. This data includes a user’s name, email address and telephone number. Data on one’s preferences, hobbies, memberships and websites one visits are also considered personal data. Personal data is collected and used by the provider only if this is legally permitted or the user consents to the data collection.

Establishment of contact

When contacting the provider (via email or message), the user’s data is stored for the purpose of processing the inquiry as well as in the event that further questions arise.

Integration of services and third-party content

It may occur that third-party content such as videos from YouTube, maps from Google Maps, RSS feeds or graphics from other websites are integrated into the offer. This always requires that the providers of this content (hereinafter “third party”) process the IP address of the user, because without an IP address content cannot be sent to the browser of a particular user. The IP address is therefore necessary to display this content. We strive to use only such content whose respective providers use the user’s IP address exclusively to deliver their content. However, we have no control over whether or not the third-party will save the IP address for statistical purposes. Should we become aware of such a practice, we will inform users of our website.

Cookies

Cookies are small files which can store information on a user’s computer (PC, smartphone, etc.) based on the type of computer the user is using. They are used to facilitate the user-friendliness of websites (for instance, by saving user preferences). But they also allow statistical data about the use of websites to be collected and log-in data to be analysed to improve the offer. The user can influence the use of cookies. Most browsers have an option to restrict or prevent cookies from being stored. However, it is worth noting that the use and, in particular, the ease of use of the services is limited without cookies.

You can control cookies according to your specification and/or delete them. Learn how at aboutcookies.org. You can delete any cookies already stored on your computer and set most browsers to prevent cookies from being downloaded. In this case, you may need to manually adjust some settings each time you visit a website, and this may prevent you from getting the best experience on a website.

Cancellation, changes, corrections and updates

The user has the right, on request, to receive information free of charge about the personal data that has been stored about them. Additionally, the user has the right to correct incorrect data, blocking and deletion of their personal data, provided there is no legal obligation to retain such data.
